Mango festival to be held early next month: DC

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 21 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa on Monday approved organizing a mango festival in Muzaffargarh in the first ten days of Aug to showcase the area’s sweet delicacy to people from different segments of society, notably businesspersons with inclinations to export and food processing.
Presiding over a meeting to discuss arrangements for the mango festival, the DC said that a suitable date should be finalized after consulting Deputy Director Agriculture Rana Habib Ur Rahman and other officials concerned.
It will be an opportunity to project local culture, heritage and agriculture and promote tourism, the DC said.
He asked officials to ensure participation of mango growers, traders and their families in the festival, adding that special activities be designed to ensure participation of women and children. He ordered flawless arrangements with comprehensive planning for the festival including security, cleanliness, parking, stage, stalls and recreational activities.
ADCR Uwaid Irshad Bhatti, ADCG Muhammad Yousuf Cheena, deputy director agriculture Rana Habib Ur Rahman, AC Muzaffargarh Khizar Zahoor, besides officials from agriculture, excise, marketing and others attended the meeting.
