RAWALPINDI, Nov 13 (APP):The Sadiqabad Police apprehended a man for allegedly resorting to aerial firing and displaying a weapon after a video of the act went viral on social media.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman on Thursday, the accused was taken into custody during a prompt operation by the Sadiqabad Police, which also recovered the pistol used in the offence.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Division Saad Arshad said that the exhibition and promotion of firearms was a criminal act under the law and directed the Sadiqabad Police to prepare the case against the accused on a solid basis to secure his conviction in court.
He warned that those who spread fear and panic through aerial firing, endangering public safety, would not escape legal action.
