LWMC deploys over 900 workers, machinery to clean 120 imambargahs

LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP):The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has initiated an extensive sanitation operation in connection with Muharram to ensure a clean environment during processions.
Under the directives of Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din, a detailed cleanliness plan has been developed and put into action across the city. As part of the initiative, special cleaning and washing of over 120 Imambargahs will be completed prior to Ashura. Enhanced sanitation measures will remain in place throughout the month, with particular focus on the first ten days of Muharram. To support the cleaning operation, more than 900 sanitation workers and machinery have been deployed across the city in three shifts to maintain uninterrupted cleanliness services.
LWMC dedicated teams are actively engaged in cleaning Imambargahs and procession routes, while timely waste container clearance is being ensured.
Moreover, a central control room has been established for continuous monitoring of the citywide sanitation efforts.
