PESHAWAR, Dec 17 (APP):After the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s surprised visit, the Director of Lady Reading Hospital was immediately removed from office over poor performance.
During the Chief Minister’s inspection, patient care and administrative affairs were found to be alarmingly weak, according to an official communiqué.
On the Chief Minister’s instructions, the head of the Paeds Emergency was suspended and a fact-finding inquiry was ordered.
It said any negligence in the care of newborns and emergency patients has been declared unacceptable.
The provincial government has reiterated the implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against poor performance in the health sector, the communiqué added.
