Life term awarded in murder case

FAISALABAD, May 31 (APP):Additional District and Sessions Judge Zishan-ur-Rasool awarded life imprisonment to an accused involved in a murder case of Dijkot police station.
According to the prosecution, accused Ali Raza of Chak No.263-RB Lakshmi Chowk along with his accomplice Abdul Rehman had killed Muhammad Samiullah in addition to inflicting injuries to Muhammad Ahmad Raza and Muhammad Bilal over a dispute in a local Mela at Dijkot on February 16, 2024.
After observing evidence and witnesses, the court awarded life imprisonment to accused Ali Raza. The convict was also directed to pay Rs.500,000 compensation to legal heirs of the deceased, otherwise, he would have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months.
The court also awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.50,000 to accused Ali Raza for attempting to murder Muhammad Ahmad Raza and Muhammad Bilal. The convict will have to face three months imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.
Meanwhile, the judge also awarded 5 years rigorous imprisonment to Ali Raza for inflicting injuries on Muhammad Ahmad Raza and directed him to pay Rs.67,57,902/- as ‘Arsh’ (compensatory blood money) to the victim.
Six months rigorous imprisonment was also awarded to the accused for injuries caused to Muhammad Bilal and directed him to pay Rs.5,000 as Daman (compensation for pain) to the victim.
The convict shall remain in jail to suffer simple imprisonment in case of default in payment whereas his accomplice Abdur Rehman was acquitted by giving him the benefit of the doubt.
