LGH to host training workshops for new house officers

LAHORE, Jul 27 (APP):The Lahore General Hospital (LGH), working with Ameer-Uddin Medical College, would organise a series of training workshops of newly inducted house officers in a bid to enhance the professional skills.
The initiative was announced in a statement on Saturday by AMC Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar, who emphasised the importance of continuous education and skill development in the medical field.
He stated that senior doctors would deliver lectures focusing on the symptoms of various diseases, preventive measures, and modern treatment methods. This training aims to equip young house officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle real-life medical situations confidently. “Young doctors are the nation’s capital, with a long career ahead. They must be prepared for the challenges of obtaining higher medical education,” he remarked.
The Principal of PGMI/AMC also advised the new house officers to respect their teachers and seniors, adhere to medical ethics, and uphold moral principles. He stressed that such values are crucial for providing better patient care post-house job. He highlighted that graduates from Ameer Uddin Medical College, affiliated with Lahore General Hospital, would receive a monthly stipend in line with government policy to support their expenses.
He emphasized the necessity of specialization and continuous professional development, noting that an MBBS degree alone is insufficient in today’s medical landscape. He urged young doctors to focus on serving humanity and keeping abreast of the latest medical research and technologies to meet the demands of the modern era.
The training workshops are part of Lahore General Hospital’s ongoing efforts to ensure that its medical staff are well-prepared to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
