MUZAFFAR GARH, Jan 14 (APP):Police arrested an ‘influential landlord’ accused of gang-raping a woman after forcing her to drink wine, the official said here on Wednesday.

According to a police spokesperson, the victim, identified as Safia Bibi, stated in her complaint that the landlord, along with his accomplices Khalil and Ghulam Mustafa, dragged her to his farmhouse where she was subjected to physical assault. She said the accused later abandoned her after committing the crime.

On the report of the victim, medico-legal procedures were conducted. Following confirmation through forensic evidence, police arrested the main accused. A case has been registered, while rest of the accomplices named in the FIR are still at large.

Police have assured that the absconding suspects will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
