PESHAWAR, Oct 16 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released Rs23.77 billion in development funds for various departments under the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025–26.
According to official documents issued by the Finance Department, the education, health, and road sectors received the largest allocations.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Department received Rs3.01 billion, the Health Department Rs2.47 billion, and the Higher Education Department Rs648.5 million.
The government also allocated Rs808.6 million for the Agriculture Department, Rs203.3 million for the Auqaf Department, Rs155 million for the Board of Revenue, Rs726.3 million for clean drinking water and sanitation projects, Rs468.3 million for the Energy and Power Department, Rs583.4 million for the Finance Department, Rs91.4 million for the Excise and Taxation Department, and Rs146.1 million for the Environment Department.
The Finance Department stated that the transfer of funds from flagship schemes has been completely prohibited, and the released funds will be used only for approved development projects.
The government added that the timely release of funds will accelerate ongoing projects and improve public service delivery across the province.
