PESHAWAR, Nov 28 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally constituted the Local Government (LG) Commission in the province, according to an official notification issued by the Local Government Department.
The department stated that the commission has been established under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Act, 2013, and will immediately assume its powers and responsibilities.
According to the notification, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Meena Khan Afridi will serve as Chairman of the commission, while the Director General Local Government and RDD will act as Secretary of the commission.
MPA Muhammad Idrees and MPA Ahmad Kundi have been appointed as members, while technocrats Hafiz-ur-Rehman and Ayesha Bano will also serve on the commission.
Representatives from the Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Department, the Local Government, Elections and RDD Department, as well as a representative from the Finance Department, have also been included as members of the commission.
