KHANEWAL, Jul 30 (APP):A meeting of the District Health Authority met here on Wednesday with Deputy Commissioner Dr Salma Suleman in the chair and approved the annual health budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.
The session was attended by deputy director development Shahid Rehman, CEO Health Dr. Hadi Hassan, and budget officers from the health department. During the meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive review of the proposed budgetary allocations, spending priorities, ongoing challenges, and strategic goals for the upcoming financial year.
Dr. Hadi Hassan presented detailed insights into ongoing and proposed health projects across the district, emphasizing improvements in primary healthcare services, uninterrupted supply of essential medicines, enhancement of human resources, and the development of new health infrastructure.
DC Dr. Salma Suleman reiterated the commitment to improving healthcare services and stressed that the budget must be utilized efficiently for the greater public good.
Officials also discussed the allocation of resources to address critical needs, including maternal and child health, disease prevention, immunization programs, and strengthening rural health units.
