KARACHI, Oct 20 (APP): A crime review meeting, chaired by Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho, was held at the Karachi Police Office to assess the overall law and order situation in the city.
The meeting was attended by DIGP Admin, Zonal DIGPs, DIGP CIA, DIGP Investigation, and other senior officers, said a news release on Monday.
During the session, the DIGP CIA and Zonal DIGPs presented detailed performance reports of their respective zones, covering crime statistics, police actions, progress of investigations, high-profile cases, and arrests of absconders and proclaimed offenders.
Reviewing the current crime situation and performance of investigating officers, the Additional IGP emphasized the need to improve case follow-ups and ensure better progress in court proceedings.
The ongoing operations against drug peddlers were also discussed in detail. The Karachi Police Chief reiterated his zero-tolerance policy and directed officials to take more effective measures against narcotics-related crimes.
He further instructed officers to intensify combing, snap checking, and search operations to curb criminal activities and provide a safer environment for citizens.
Javed Alam Odho stressed that all available resources should be utilized to protect lives and property, and that security at sensitive locations should be further strengthened.
