MULTAN, Oct 29 (APP):The district administration and law enforcement agencies have launched a large-scale joint search operation to locate Afghan nationals residing illegally in Multan district.
Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu said on Wednesday that the operation was being carried out under the law and on the directives of the Punjab government. He said that the residences of Afghan nationals had been identified in several areas of Multan, and their details were being collected and verified through a scrutiny process.
The deputy commissioner urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities and immediately report any information regarding illegal Afghan residents in their localities to the police or administration.
Waseem Hamid Sindhu cautioned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals found providing shelter, renting out houses, or engaging in any business or employment dealings with illegal Afghan residents. Such acts, he said, would be treated as violations of the law.
He explained that the ongoing search operation aims to collect and compile comprehensive data on undocumented Afghan nationals to strengthen security and maintain law and order across the district.
