PESHAWAR, Nov 10 (APP):A seven-year-old feud in Katlang, a tehsil of Mardan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has finally come to an end through the efforts of a local jirga (council of elders).
According to local administration on Monday, during the Jirga both the parties forgave each other and pledged to live together as brothers in peace.
The peace jirga was held in the area of Sawaldher, where the long-standing enmity, which began after the killing of a student, was resolved. With the mediation of respected elders, both sides took an oath on the Holy Quran, agreeing to end hostilities once and for all.
The reconciliation has brought relief to the community, putting an end to years of tension. Famous for its successful reconciliation history, the Sawaldher jirga has once again become a symbol of peace and unity in the region.
