JI leader expresses solidarity with Iran

A senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in North Punjab, Dr Tariq Saleem, expressed solidarity with Iran and criticized the policies of the United States and Israel during a protest demonstration held in Rawalpindi.

RAWALPINDI, Mar 06 (APP):A senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in North Punjab, Dr Tariq Saleem, expressed solidarity with Iran and criticized the policies of the United States and Israel during a protest demonstration held in Rawalpindi.
Addressing participants of the protest against alleged Israeli and American aggression, he said that the Iranian people would continue to resist external pressure and remain steadfast.
He said Muslims around the world were closely watching developments in the region and urged leaders of Muslim countries to play a more active role in addressing the situation.
Dr Saleem also criticized international initiatives he described as ineffective in maintaining peace, and called on the Pakistan government to review its position on such forums.
He reiterated support for the Iranian people and said religious scholars in Pakistan stood in solidarity with them.
