LAHORE, Jan 17 (APP):An eight-member delegation of mid-career officers from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Rwanda, Liberia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, visiting Pakistan as part of the 120th Advanced Course of Pakistan Railways, toured the Divisional Superintendent’s Office and the Control Office on Friday.
Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways Lahore, Muhammad Hanif Gul, hosted a special session with the delegation, providing a comprehensive overview of the operations and departments within Pakistan Railways. The delegation received detailed briefings on the organization’s traffic, mechanical, signaling, engineering, land, infrastructure, and commercial sectors. A specific focus was placed on the ML-1 project and railway connectivity.
Addressing the delegation, DS Railways Lahore stated, “Pakistan Railways is dedicated to ensuring safe and comfortable travel for passengers and seeks to foster international collaboration in the railway sector.” As a gesture of goodwill, Muhammad Hanif Gul presented an honorary shield to the delegation’s team leader.
Further briefings were conducted by Divisional Transportation Officer Arwa Khan, who explained the Control Office’s functioning, and Divisional Commercial Officer Ghulam Fareed Asad, who elaborated on the commercial and overall operations of the division.
The session was attended by key officials, including Divisional Personnel Officer Syed Muhammad Ali Zeeshan Zaidi, Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineers Muhammad Nadeem Khattak and Roheel Nawaz, and course coordinator Ali Raza Maiken.
The visiting delegation expressed appreciation for the detailed insights and commended Pakistan Railways’ efforts in promoting international cooperation and knowledge-sharing.
