ICT Police hold two in Sumbal abduction–murder case

ISLAMABAD, Nov 23 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the abduction and murder of a man whose body was recovered from Khokhar Zahir village in Chakwal.
An official told APP on Sunday that the case originated on 17 November 2025, when an FIR (No. 686/25) was registered at Sumbal Police Station, reporting the abduction of Noor Marjan, son of Ali Marjan.
A day later, on 18 November, police were informed that a body had been found in an agricultural field in Khokhar Zahir. The deceased was later identified as Rasheed Khattak, a resident of Kirk Pelosa.
According to the police official, initial investigations revealed that the victim had been abducted and later murdered before his body was dumped in Chakwal.
Following the lead, ICT Police teams, assisted by the Elite Force, conducted a targeted raid in Khokhar Zahir village, where two suspects — Hassan Naseem Attari and Shiraz Hussain (alias Mithu) — were taken into custody. Both are believed to have direct involvement in the abduction and murder.
He said further investigation is under way, and interrogators are working to determine the motive, possible accomplices and the sequence of events leading to the crime.
The official added that the incident has caused concern among local residents, and police have assured the public that every aspect of the case is being probed and those responsible will be brought to justice.
Police teams are continuing follow-up operations, and more arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
