ISLAMABAD, Feb 03 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have finalized a comprehensive security plan for Shab-e-Barat, deploying more than 1,000 police officers and personnel to ensure the safety of worshippers and smooth conduct of religious gatherings across the federal capital.
A public relations officer told APP on Tuesday that, on the special directives of Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza formulated a detailed security plan to maintain law and order during the night.
Under the plan, strict security arrangements have been put in place at mosques and locations hosting religious congregations, and all concerned station house officers (SHOs) have been issued clear instructions. The spokesperson said that uniformed armed personnel, plainclothes staff and women police officers will perform duties, while police commandos and female commandos will also be deployed at sensitive points.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) officers and personnel have been assigned special duties. Additional police commandos and personnel have been deployed at Rawal Dam and Lake View Park, where large gatherings are expected.
The spokesperson added that walk-through gates and metal detectors will be used for checking, while all entry and exit points of the city will be subjected to strict security screening. Bomb Disposal Squad teams will also conduct thorough checks in various areas.
Patrolling teams have been directed to remain active across different sectors and rural areas of Islamabad throughout the night. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority of Islamabad Police, and no negligence in security duties will be tolerated.
He reiterated that Islamabad Police are fully prepared and committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the public during Shab-e-Barat.
