LAHORE, Oct 20 (APP): The Hindu community across the globe, including in Lahore and various parts of Pakistan, celebrated the festival of Diwali on Monday with deep religious devotion and traditional fervor.
Special ceremonies were held in temples across the country to mark the occasion. In Lahore, celebrations took place at Krishna Mandir on Ravi Road, while in Karachi, the Swami Narayan Temple hosted Diwali events, according to media reports.
As part of their religious traditions, members of the Hindu community lit clay lamps (diyas) to commemorate the return of Lord Ram after defeating the demon king Ravana, the slaying of Narakasura by Lord Krishna, and the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, who is believed to bring prosperity and abundance.
According to Hindu beliefs, these lamps symbolize love, hope, and the triumph of light over darkness, reflecting the awakening of positive values such as unity and respect.
Diwali is also observed as a tribute to the sacrifices of Shri Ram Chandra Ji, who, according to tradition, spent fourteen years in exile, spreading the message of righteousness and devotion.
The festival brought together families and communities in a spirit of joy, cultural pride, and spiritual reflection.
