SIALKOT, Oct 12 (APP):Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) Chairman Chaudhry Tariq Subhani along with Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Rana Arif Iqbal Harnah participated in the distribution of Chief Minister’s Himmat cards among special persons.
Chaudhry Tariq Subhani said that the distribution of stipends had been made possible among the deserving people without harming their self-esteem with the launch of the special program of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said that 40,000 special persons of the province had been registered for quarterly assistance in the first phase and a total of 65,000 people would benefit from it and their number would increase gradually.
He said that the Chief Minister government has taken historic initiatives like “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” and “Himmat Card” in a short span.
Deputy Director (DD) Social Welfare Sharif Ghumman, former Chairman District Bait-ul-Mal Committee Chaudhary Shakeel Ahmed, Member Himmat Card Committee Ashfaq Nazar Ghuman, former Social Welfare Officer Jameel Bajwa, Assistant Director (AD) Modern Children Home Asma Ahmed, Focal Person Zarqa and Imran Kisana were also present.
Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Rana Arif Harnah said that for the first time in history, stipends have been issued for special persons on a permanent basis. He said that the scheme has been made transparent and door-to-door verification was done and all work was completed without special persons visiting any office.
He said that the PML-N government is fully aware of the problems of people due to inflation, for which they are working day and night.
Deputy Director (DD) Social Welfare Sharif Ghumman said that in Sialkot district, 877 special persons were verified at their doorsteps and their bank accounts were opened.
The DD Social Welfare said that in district Sialkot, Rs10,500 has been paid for the first quarterly installment of 371 people.
He said that Himmat Cards and the first installment were being distributed to 50 people daily and the target of distribution of Himmat Cards and cash in the first phase will be completed by October 14.
