HARIPUR, Oct 30 (APP):Haripur police launched a series of successful operations against social crimes and drug trafficking under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Farhan Khan, arresting several suspects and recovering cash, liquor, gambling equipment, and narcotics.
According to police sources, SHO Khanpur Police Station Ijaz Ali, along with his team, raided a gambling den in Islam Nagar and arrested six suspects Abid Zaman (son of Raja Riasat, resident of Mohallah Islam Nagar), Mehran (son of Munsif Khan, resident of Darra), Muhammad Amjad (son of Mubarak, resident of Sarhadana), Wajid Mahmood (son of Muhammad Younas, resident of Attock), Sadaqat Mahmood (son of Muhammad Younas, resident of Khanpur), and Muhammad Akhtar (son of Muhammad Ashraf, resident of Khoi Meera).
During the raid, the police recovered Rs. 61,600 in cash, one bottle of liquor, a Ludo board, and other gambling equipment. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 3/4 EHO and 6 GO.
In another operation, Khanpur police arrested Ghulam Fareed (son of Muhammad Sabir, resident of Nain Sukh) and recovered 60 liters of liquor from his possession.
Meanwhile, as part of the DPO’s ongoing campaign for a drug-free Haripur, SHO Ghazi Police Station, Inspector Raja Mumtaz Turk, conducted an anti-narcotics operation in Hamlet Ghazi, where Naveed Ahmed (son of Safdar Zaman) was arrested and 390 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession.
DPO Farhan Khan praised the police teams for their professionalism and timely action, reaffirming that Haripur police remain committed to eliminating gambling, drug trafficking, and other social evils from the district.
