LAHORE, Dec 19 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday directed Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to expedite gas infrastructure projects, establish a regional office in Dera Ismail Khan, and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the public.
The directives were issued during a meeting with Deputy Managing Director Operations SNGPL Saqib Arbab at the Governor House Lahore. GM Parliamentary Affairs and Coordination Shafqat, Regional Manager Kashif Naveed, and GM Projects Sajid Shah were also present.
During the meeting, the Governor was given a detailed briefing on ongoing and completed gas supply projects in Dera Ismail Khan and its surrounding areas. Officials informed that gas distribution lines in Kotla Syedan and Korai have been laid and that the Town Border Stations (TBS) are fully ready for inauguration.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi termed the establishment of a regional office of Sui Northern Gas in Dera Ismail Khan as highly essential and directed the authorities to initiate work on it immediately.
He also instructed that the process of providing new gas connections and installation of meters in Dera city be expedited to address public hardships.
The Governor further directed the authorities to take all possible practical measures to eliminate gas load-shedding, emphasizing that uninterrupted gas supply to citizens is among the government’s top priorities.
He ordered the immediate launch of surveys for gas provision in Kohkar, Budhani, and Sangar, and issued clear directives for laying a gas pipeline in Kotli Imam Hussain.
Governor Kundi said that ensuring basic facilities for the people of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Dera Ismail Khan, is his foremost responsibility, adding that all concerned institutions will work in close coordination to resolve critical issues such as gas supply.
