GILGIT, Sep 08 (APP):The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to introduce basic language courses in all government primary schools to enhance cultural and linguistic understanding.
Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Muhiudeen Wani said that the courses would focus on basic elements of Shina, Balti and Burushaski, according to a statement issued here on Friday.
He said that Balti would be taught in the Gilgit and Diamer Astore divisions while Shina and Burushaski would be made part of the curriculum in the Baltistan division.
He said existing teaching staff would be trained to execute it from the next session.
