RAJANPUR, Oct 26 (APP):Rajanpur Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a notorious fugitive in encounter on Saturday late night near City Jampur’s eastern bypass.
DPO Farooq Amjad stated that police engaged six armed suspects intending to commit a robbery on motorcycles. The suspects fired heavily on police, who returned fire in self-defence.
One suspect, identified as Shafqat aka Pappu was found injured at the scene, reportedly by the firing of his own accomplices. He was wanted by police in 35 heinous cases. The police recovered a 30-bore pistol from him.
A manhunt was underway for the arrest of fleeing suspects.
