LAHORE, Nov 10 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has arrested five suspects involved in human trafficking and violations of the Copyright Act during separate operations.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the raids were conducted by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle and Corporate Crime Circle Lahore. The arrested suspects include Muhammad Khubaib, Muhammad Shafiq, Aftabur Rehman, Saeed Khan, and Muhammad Raza. The suspects were apprehended from different locations in Lahore and Okara.
As per initial findings, Muhammad Khubaib, Muhammad Shafiq, and Aftabur Rehman allegedly defrauded citizens of a total of Rs 7.6 million by falsely promising overseas employment. They failed to send victims abroad and subsequently went into hiding.
Meanwhile, suspects Saeed Khan and Muhammad Raza were found involved in violations of the Copyright Act. A large quantity of counterfeit products belonging to various well-known registered companies was recovered from their possession.
Further investigation was underway, said spokesperson.
