LAHORE, Oct 16 (APP): A fire erupted on the fifth floor of the LDA Plaza located near Aiwan-e-Adl, destroying important case records and furniture before being brought under control by the fire brigade on Thursday.
Rescue 1122 and fire brigade teams reached the site immediately and launched firefighting operations. Officials confirmed that no casualties occurred as the building was vacant at the time of the incident.
According to initial reports, the blaze broke out in courtrooms situated within the LDA Plaza before the commencement of court proceedings.
The fire quickly spread across the fifth floor, engulfing courtrooms and burning case files, documents, and other materials. Thick plumes of smoke filled the building as the flames intensified.
Lahore District and Sessions Judge Khurshid Khawaja, Senior Civil Judge Shafqat Abbas Baghiana, and Focal Person (Security) Shakeeb Imran Qamar arrived at the scene and were briefed on the situation.
The administration stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, though an investigation has been launched to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
