LAHORE, Oct 14 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has launched a tough crackdown against a religious group involved in anti-state protests and violent activities.
According to an FIA spokesman, investigations have uncovered evidence linking several senior officials and workers of the group to illegal financial activities. The agency is currently scrutinising their bank accounts and assets.
Several bank accounts allegedly used to fund violent protests have been frozen, the spokesman confirmed.
The names of key suspects involved in financing the group are being added to the Stop List to prevent their travel abroad.
The FIA emphasised that it is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal financial dealings related to the group. Further investigations are ongoing, with more legal actions expected as new evidence emerges, said spokesman.
