CHINIOT, Nov 17 (APP):Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Monday said that Pakistan offered countless opportunities for investment, and in the coming years, a significant increase was expected in joint ventures, foreign investment, and new MoUs.
He was speaking to the media persons at the inauguration ceremony of the elevator facility at the Islamia Hospital here.
He said that global development had been achieved through foreign investment and technology transfer, and Pakistan was also following the same model to move towards economic stability.
The minister expressed hope that Pakistan’s international image would further improve in the coming years.
Discussing the country’s defence strategy and military leadership, he said that strong coordination in the field of national security was indispensable, and the the current leadership was taking a positive steps in the direction, which would further strengthen the protection of national interests.
Speaking on the government–opposition relationship, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that political differences aside, both the government and the opposition must sit together to resolve issues in the national interest.
He appreciated the facilitation efforts of the Speaker, National Assembly and said that political stability was essential for promoting investment.
Highlighting welfare and social services, he said that Anjuman Islamia Chiniot had rendered remarkable services in the medical field.
Over the past years, millions of patients had been treated through eye care medical camps, while special camps were also set up to provide medical services in flood-affected areas, he added.
The minister said that facilities at the hospital and dispensary were being further expanded so that the public receive better healthcare at their doorstep.
The minister also inaugurated a stretcher lift for patients at the hospital.
