FAISALABAD, Oct 06 (APP):Faisalabad Development Authority’s (FDA) Anti-Encroachment Team has carried out a major operation in Gulistan Colony and Millat Town and removed all kinds of temporary encroachments from public pathways and market fronts.
FDA spokesman said here on Monday that FDA team conducted the operation after it found that several shopkeepers, pushcart vendors, fruit and vegetable sellers and other traders had occupied portions of roads and government land by setting up stalls, blocking public passageways and disrupting smooth traffic flow.
He said that FDA Director Estate Management Junaid Hassan Manj supervised the operation during which the FDA team confiscated goods and equipment used in the encroachments.
The FDA team also challaned 48 shopkeepers and referred their cases to the court of Special Judicial Magistrate for legal action.
He said that clearing public routes and government land from illegal occupation is imperative to ensure smooth traffic movement and convenient environment for general public in commercial areas.
The traders should confine their business activities within their designated premises and refrain from any form of temporary or permanent encroachment. Any violation detected during inspections would invite strict legal action including registration of criminal cases against habitual violators, he added.
