PESHAWAR, Aug 16 (APP):KP Minister of Food, Zahir Shah Toru has said that the provincial government has taken effective measures to increase the production of wheat and utilizing all available resources and to store it safely.
He expressed these views while presiding over a consultative meeting organized under the auspices of the Food Department here on Friday.
Additional Secretary Food Department Ashfaq Khan, Director General (DG) Agriculture Research Department Dr. Abdul Rauf, Director Food Yasir Hasan, Director Technical Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
The meeting was given a detailed briefing regarding wheat production and its storage in the province.
The meeting was told that Pakistan is among the top ten countries in wheat production worldwide. The meeting was also informed in detail about wheat production at provincial level and challenges in this regard.
On this occasion, the provincial minister issued directives to take steps on a priority basis for increasing the production of wheat and its safe storage and initiating of priority based measures for getting the cooperation of all concerned organizations to ensure food stability in flour prices in the province.
