HARIPUR, Nov 27 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday has issued the official notification confirming the victory of Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate Babar Nawaz Khan in the NA-18 Haripur by-election.
According to the notification, Babar Nawaz Khan secured 163,817 votes to win the seat. Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Iram Fatima obtained 7,038 votes, while independent candidate Shehrnaz Umar Ayub bagged 120,395 votes. Independent candidate Asad Usman received 12,657 votes, Khurshid Anwar Khan secured 320 votes, Syed Ali Zawar Hussain Naqvi got 2,352 votes, and Muhammad Sarwar received 142 votes.
Among other contestants, Hazara Qaumi Mahaz candidate Rustam Khan managed 696 votes, while Pakistan Nizariati Party’s Abdul Shakoor received 1,428 votes.
The ECP stated that a total of 316,652 votes were cast in the constituency, of which 7,807 votes were rejected, while 308,845 votes were declared valid.
