WAH CANTONMENT, Oct 31 (APP):A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) on Thursday in Taxila has sentenced Saddam Hussain to nine years in prison for drug peddling.
According to APP correspondent, the accused was arrested in September 2024 by Wah Cantonment Police for possessing 1.80 kilograms of hashish.
The judge, after hearing arguments from both the defense and prosecution counsels, found the accused guilty of selling drugs. The prosecution presented strong evidence, including the recovery of contraband, which linked the accused to the crime. The court awarded a nine-year imprisonment sentence and an Rs 80,000 fine.
In case of non-payment of the fine, the accused will have to face an additional six months in jail. The court’s verdict serves as a deterrent to those involved in drug trafficking.
