LAYYAH, Jan 30 (APP): A drug dealer was awarded life imprisonment along with a heavy fine after being found guilty in a narcotics case here on Friday.
According to police sources, Additional District and Sessions Judge Imran Safdar convicted the accused Ayaz Hussain and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 800,000.
The case was registered at police station Fath Pur, tahsil Kiror Lal Eisa , where the police had recovered more than 10 kilograms of Hashish (Charas) from the accused during an operation.
Police officials stated that the conviction was secured on the basis of solid evidence and effective investigation, adding that operations against drug trafficking will continue to eliminate the menace of narcotics from society.
