District peace committee reviews security arrangements

GUJRAT, Feb 09 (APP): A meeting of the District Peace Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi to review the law and order situation and security arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner thanked religious scholars and members of the Peace Committee for their cooperation and said that the district administration was fully alert to maintain a peaceful environment. She said all departments would work in close coordination to ensure harmony and public safety during Ramadan.
District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq said the police would remain vigilant throughout Ramadan and special measures had been planned to ensure enhanced security. He added that security would be strengthened at sensitive locations, mosques and Imambargahs.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Saba Sehar, Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadir Zarkoon, Assistant Commissioner Kharian Ahmed Sher, Assistant Commissioner Sarai Alamgir Farooq Azam, members of the District Peace Committee and religious representatives from various schools of thought.
