PESHAWAR, Jul 07 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Sarmad Salim Akram, chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to finalize preparations for the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2025.
The meeting, attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Babar Khan Tanoli, administrative officers, and officials from relevant departments, outlined targets and strategies for the city-wide plantation drive.
He emphasized that the campaign is not just a government initiative but a public movement requiring collective effort.
“Every citizen, student, and institution must contribute to making Peshawar greener and environmentally sustainable for future generations,” he stated.
The campaign will focus on planting trees in educational institutions, hospitals, government offices, roadsides, residential areas, and public spaces. Officers have been directed to monitor plantation activities in their jurisdictions and ensure proper care of saplings.
The public has been urged to actively participate and help protect newly planted trees in their neighborhoods. The success of the initiative, officials stressed, depends on community involvement.
