KHANEWAL, Nov 06 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the Revenue Department to intensify efforts to achieve government recovery targets, as the district administration moves to curb illegal housing schemes and accelerate the Punjab Plus Project.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Salma Suleman chaired a meeting to review revenue recoveries and the progress of the Punjab Plus Project. The session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khalid Abbas Siyal, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars, and ADLRs.
The meeting decided to launch a strict crackdown on illegal housing societies operating in the district. The focal person of the Punjab Plus Project gave a detailed briefing on the project’s performance, while Dr. Suleman issued categorical instructions to the revenue team to meet all assigned recovery and land record targets without delay.
She stressed that the Punjab Plus Project is a flagship initiative of the provincial government, warning that no negligence would be tolerated. Directions were also issued to expand survey coverage, engage nambardars, and hold regular community sessions. Patwaris were instructed to provide accurate data to GIS mapping survey teams.
The DC made it clear that any patwari or revenue officer found involved in illegal mutations or fraudulent issuance of property records would face strict disciplinary action. She also ordered compliance with Public Accounts Committee audit directives, completion of agricultural income tax and land-based recovery goals, and disposal of pending judicial cases within seven days.
