GUJRAT, May 31 (APP):In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Clean Punjab” vision, Deputy Commissioner Safdar Hussain Virk visited Union Council Chak Sada to review sanitation and waste management arrangements at the village level.
Accompanied by the Waste Management team, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various locations, including public spaces, streets, and pathways.
Director of Waste Management Waseem Asadullah briefed him on ongoing cleanliness measures, the availability of machinery and manpower, and the deployment of mobile teams in rural areas. Speaking on the occasion, DC Virk said that cleanliness is essential to public health and a core Islamic value.
He directed that sanitation conditions in all rural union councils be monitored daily and that prompt action be taken in case of any negligence. He added that the district administration is committed to making Gujrat a model district for cleanliness, with joint efforts from government departments and local communities.
