FAISALABAD, Jul 24 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh on Wednesday expressed dismay over poor performance of price control magistrates and warned of strict action against them.
After receiving complaints against overcharging in the price of roti, he immediately called an emergency meeting of price control magistrates and said that price control magistrates are duty bound to ensure implementation on price control mechanism in letter and spirit.
He said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz was positively taking keen interest in the provision of Roti at controlled rate. Hence, no negligence, lethargy or delinquency would be tolerated in this regard at all. He directed the price control magistrates to inspect the markets and bazaars and ensure display of price lists at conspicuous places in addition to implementing on it in to to.
He also reviewed personnel performance of each magistrate and issued notices to some of them over their poor performance. He said that performance of all price control magistrates would be evaluated in next meeting and strict action would be taken if performance of any magistrate would be found poor
