CHINIOT, Apr 4 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ayesha Rizwan on Saturday chaired a meeting on the wheat procurement campaign in Chiniot, with farmers, growers and harvester owners in attendance.
Officials reviewed procurement targets, center facilities, provision of bardana and steps to ensure transparency.
Ayesha directed the deputy director of agriculture, the food controller and other officers to provide full facilities to growers and warned that corruption, middlemen and delays would not be tolerated at the government-fixed rate.
Farmers raised problems and suggestions during the session; the DC promised immediate resolution. She also urged harvester owners to carry out timely harvesting to prevent grower hardship, noting the recent rise in petroleum prices.
Officials assured harvester operators of full cooperation to keep the campaign smooth. The administration said all resources would be used to make this year’s wheat procurement successful and farmer-friendly.
