CHINIOT, Oct 20 (APP): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Safiullah Gondal, stressed the need for coordinated measures to tackle potential smog threats in the district.
He emphasized that relevant departments must remain proactive in implementing precautionary and safety measures to mitigate the smog threat, reported by APP correspondent.
He directed the Traffic Police and Secretary RTA to intensify the campaign against smog-emitting vehicles.
He also emphasized the need to display banners highlighting the crackdown on such vehicles at prominent locations. Additionally, he instructed the Agriculture Department to continue awareness campaigns among farmers to prevent crop residue burning.
The DC stressed that no kiln should be allowed to operate without zigzag technology, which helps reduce pollution. He also directed the departments to take steps to prevent smoke emissions from factory boilers and industries.
He highlighted the need for awareness lectures in educational institutions to educate students about the harmful effects of smog.
He also stressed the importance of informing citizens about the health impacts of smog and promoting precautionary measures. The DC urged all departments to fulfill their responsibilities in controlling smog and make their efforts visible.
