FAISALABAD, Oct 31 (APP):The ring leader of an eight-member dacoit gang, wanted in more than a dozen cases of robberies, was killed in a police encounter with DDC Lyallpur and Iqbal divisions.
The robber was identified as Ramzan alias Jani Lohar.
According to a police spokesman here Friday, a police team conducted a raid in Chak No 256-RB in Roshanwala police limits to arrest the proclaimed offenders. The outlaws resorted to fire on the police team, in retaliation, police held a dacoit suffering bullet injuries while his accomplices managed to escape. The dacoit was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused was wanted by police in more than 70 cases of robberies.
