QUETTA, Nov 04 (APP): Chief Secretary (CS) Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan directed all departments to adopt a robust monitoring strategy and enhance collaboration to maintain high standards in project execution.
He emphasized the importance of fast-track tracking mechanisms to accelerate development and improve the overall standard of living in Balochistan.
A high-level meeting of the Strategic Projects Oversight Committee was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, to review the progress of key development initiatives across the province.
The session included a detailed assessment of ongoing strategic projects, focusing on construction quality, implementation timelines, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure transparency and efficiency.
“Timely and transparent implementation of strategic projects is essential to deliver tangible benefits to the people,” Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan added.
The Chief Secretary announced that the provincial government has successfully established 607 new schools, resulting in the enrollment of over 40,000 children—a significant step toward improving access to education.
The committee identified several priority areas for accelerated implementation.
The projects included expansion of road networks, solar electrification of 8 towns in the first phase, Command Area Development for agricultural productivity, Safe City Projects in 8 urban centers, municipal service improvements, public grievance redressal mechanisms, establishment of 1,800 new schools, construction of 2 additional classrooms in 3,000 existing schools, clean drinking water provision, development of Housing Estate Nokundi, solarization of industrial zones, youth employment through the People’s Train Service Enterprise Development, district-level development via District Coordination Committees in 35 districts, establishment of a Meat Packaging Plant, comprehensive urban development projects.
Chief Secretary concluded by stressing the need to establish a permanent system for monitoring and evaluation to ensure the long-term sustainability of development efforts and maximize their impact on public welfare.
