RAWALPINDI, Oct 23 (APP):The Rawalpindi Police have decided to launch a crackdown on violations of the Loudspeaker Act, in pursuance of the Punjab Government’s province-wide directives to ensure its strict enforcement.
According to police sources, comprehensive measures are being taken to implement the law across the city. Police teams have been instructed to intensify monitoring of mosques, Imambargahs, and public gatherings to prevent misuse of loudspeakers and maintain public order.
The move follows a high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, which reviewed the law and order situation and decided to further tighten enforcement of the Loudspeaker Act across the province.
The meeting also approved the establishment of whistle-blower cells in every district, the reactivation of peace committees, and a ban on advertisements, posters, and placards promoting extremist groups.
The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure peace, promote interfaith harmony, and guarantee full compliance with the law throughout the province.
