CPO hold open courts, swift action taken against domestic violence

RAWALPINDI, Jun 21 (APP): In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani conducted open court sessions at Ratta Amral and Gunjmandi police stations in Rawalpindi on Saturday, directly engaging with citizens to address their grievances promptly.
The open courts were attended by Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), investigation officers, members of civil society, and representatives from the Traders’ Association.
During the open courts,citizens raised various concerns, ranging from local disputes to serious complaints to which CPO issued immediate directives to ensure swift action on all applications.
A notable case involved a woman who reported domestic violence. The CPO ordered prompt legal action, underscoring Rawalpindi Police’s commitment to addressing gender-based issues. The complainant expressed satisfaction and gratitude over the swift response by the police.
“Rawalpindi Police takes swift action on women’s complaints. As a woman, I thank the police and CPO for their support”, she said.
The open court sessions provided a platform for residents, civil society, and traders to register their concerns directly to senior police officials. Attendees praised the initiative for its accessibility and transparency. Local residents highlighted Rawalpindi Police’s “historic performance” in combating narcotics.
“We hope these operations continue with the same vigor”, a citizen expressed.
The traders’ association representatives also commended the police’s efforts in crime prevention, describing their performance as “exemplary.”
CPO Hamdani emphasized the importance of community engagement in maintaining law and order, assuring attendees that Rawalpindi Police remains dedicated to serving the public. He reiterated the force’s zero-tolerance policy toward crime and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a safer environment.
