Commissioner reviews progress of school facilities, school meal programme

SARGODHA, Oct 29 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Division Jahanzeb Awan on Wednesday presided over a meeting to review the progress of providing missing facilities in government schools and the School Meal Program.
According to the spokesperson for the Commission’s office here, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners (General), CEOs of Health Authorities, Director Development Bilal Hassan, Deputy Directors Development, and other officials.
The meeting was informed that under the Punjab Education Sector Reforms Program, funds have been allocated to provide basic facilities such as repair of dilapidated buildings, drinking water, electricity, toilets, furniture, boundary walls, and additional classrooms.
The meeting was briefed on the progress of the School Meal Program, under which students are being provided nutritious food in government schools across the division.
The meeting was also briefed that in Bhakkar district, around 80,000 students in 619 government schools are being provided milk three days a week and biscuits one day a week, and in Mianwali district, approximately 75,600 students in 663 primary schools are benefiting from the program.
Commissioner directed officials to ensure effective monitoring of ongoing projects to provide basic facilities in every school. He emphasized that the government’s vision is to provide a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for all children in the province.
