Commissioner inspects water filtration plants, water supply scheme

SARGODHA, Nov 03 (APP): Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan conducted an unannounced inspection of various water filtration plants and the Muhammadia Colony Water Supply Scheme to assess the effectiveness and progress of water supply systems in the region.
During the visit, the Commissioner thoroughly reviewed the operational aspects of the filtration plants in Iqbal Colony and Block No. 17, focusing on water quality, pressure, and cleanliness. He instructed the relevant officials to carry out regular water quality tests to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water to the citizens.
In addition to inspecting the filtration plants, Commissioner Awan also evaluated the ongoing rehabilitation work at the Muhammadia Colony Water Supply Scheme. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the historical integrity of the structure while incorporating modern water supply standards to enhance its efficiency.
The Commissioner further directed the officials to regularly monitor the functioning of filtration plants, ensure timely replacement of filters, and maintain the machinery in optimal condition. He underlined that the preservation of the historical significance of the water supply scheme should not compromise its functionality and cleanliness.
During his visit, residents of the area praised the ongoing road maintenance work but also raised concerns about certain areas requiring patchwork and improved cleanliness. Commissioner Awan immediately directed the concerned authorities to address these issues promptly.
The inspection highlights the administration’s commitment to improving water supply systems and maintaining a high standard of living for the citizens, ensuring their access to clean water and well-maintained infrastructure.
