RAWALPINDI, Jul 07 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, visited Chuhr Chowk here Monday to review the arrangements made for the mourning processions of 11th Muharram-ul-Haram, including security, traffic management, cleanliness and other necessary preparations. He was accompanied by officers from relevant departments, police personnel and Rescue 1122 officials.
The Commissioner Rawalpindi personally inspected the procession routes and instructed that there should be no obstacles anywhere and that all possible facilities should be provided to the participants of the procession.
Engineer Aamir Khattak directed the police officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements and to keep CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, and proper checking systems fully functional. He also instructed the traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow by clearly marking alternate routes and informing the public in a timely manner. He emphasized that all departments should maintain close coordination to ensure peace and order on the 11th of Muharram, and that rescue teams should remain on alert to deal with any emergency situation. He stated that holding mourning processions is a religious right of the people and the district administration is taking all possible measures to ensure their peaceful and dignified observance.
