MULTAN, Oct 28 (APP):Commissioner of Multan Division, Amir Karim Khan, has launched a unique initiative to honor the contributions of distinguished literary and artistic figures by installing tribute plaques outside their residences. This ongoing series aims to recognize and celebrate the lasting impact these figures have made on art and literature.
As part of this initiative, a ceremony was held to install a commemorative plaque at the residence of renowned poet Qamar Raza Shahzad. The event was attended by notable figures including Deputy Commissioner Multan Waseem Hamid Sindhu, Director of Public Relations Sajjad Jahaniyan, Assistant Commissioner General Javed Khan, ACR Saad Bin Khalid, as well as literary personalities like Khalid Masood and Shakir Hussain Shakir.
In his address, Commissioner Amir Karim Khan praised the legacy of such literary icons, calling them the pride of the region. He lauded Qamar Raza Shahzad for his exceptional literary services, particularly for his contributions to modern Urdu ghazal. The commissioner highlighted that Shahzad’s poetry collections have earned recognition from the Pakistan Academy of Letters, including its highest award for poetry.
Furthermore, Commissioner Khan emphasized that initiatives like these will continue to honor and promote the contributions of writers, poets, and artists, ensuring that their work is celebrated and remembered by future generations.
