Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered the deployment of additional police personnel in bazaars to manage crowds and maintain law and order. Special emphasis was laid on preventing harassment incidents, with instructions issued for women police squads to conduct regular patrolling in markets.
The chief minister directed officials to ensure complete protection for women and children in crowded marketplaces, stating that incidents of harassment must be prevented at all costs.
She further instructed the use of drone cameras for surveillance in markets, along with night vision binoculars to enhance monitoring during nighttime.
Strict vigilance was also ordered to curb one-wheeling on roads during Chand Raat. Additionally, security and patrolling around ATMs and banks were increased to avoid any untoward incidents.
Police and transport authorities were directed to maintain continuous monitoring at wagon stands and bus terminals, while transporters were instructed to prominently display approved fare lists on vehicle windscreens.
