LAHORE, Nov 10 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the Global COP-30 Conference in Belem, Brazil, where she will formally participate in the high-level proceedings.
She will address the gathering with a keynote speech outlining Punjab’s climate vision and the government’s initiatives on environmental sustainability, said a handout issued here.
Her address will focus on climate resilience, the “Suthra” and Green Punjab programmes, promotion of electric vehicles, and the conservation and expansion of forests and wildlife. The COP-30 Conference will continue until November 21.
The CM is also scheduled to meet global leaders, heads of international environmental organisations and subject experts on the sidelines of the conference to discuss collaborative strategies for climate action and sustainable development. Her participation underscores Punjab’s expanding role in promoting climate-friendly policies and reflects Pakistan’s firm commitment to a sustainable and resilient future.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat and Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique are accompanying her at the conference.
