CM announces awards for SWMC workers

SARGODHA, Jun 14 (APP): A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan regarding Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness arrangements, in which deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, CEO SWMC, Director Local Government and heads of municipal institutions of all four districts participated.
The meeting was informed that 10,000 sanitation workers of SWMC Sargodha division will be given a reward of Rs 10,000 each by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for their excellent services during the three days of Eid.  The awards will be distributed at prestigious functions held at the tehsil level in which local assembly members and administrative officers will participate. Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan paid tribute to institutions which remained active in the field for cleanliness, especially SWMC and municipal teams, and said that exemplary cleanliness arrangements should be maintained throughout the division.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of monitoring officers in detail and orders were issued for the immediate transfer of underperforming tehsil managers. The Commissioner was informed in the briefing that approval has been given to provide government vehicles and motorcycles to field officers to make the monitoring system effective, which will improve field coverage and response. The meeting was also informed about the details of the appointment of supervisors in every  union councils by SWMC, which aim to improve the quality of cleanliness and promote direct participation of citizens. The Commissioner directed that the de-silting be further accelerated and the assistant commissioners should personally supervise the cleanliness campaign so that any negligence can be identified and rectified immediately.  He also announced that he would award certificates of appreciation to best performing monitoring officers, requesting a list of them.
